 The world revolves around children at SOS Children's Villages! The living conditions, the opportunities for development, the needs and concerns of children and families are always the focus of our work. More... In areas where infrastructure is lacking, which are within in the catchment areas of SOS Children's Villages, we build medical centres which specialise in providing care for children and women. The centres offer, according to needs, basic care through vaccination campaigns, small maternity wards, related advice on hygiene, nutrition and first aid, education on HIV/AIDS and prevention, as well as psychosocial services. Another aspect is the mental, social and psychological health or therapeutic monitoring of children and young people who live at SOS Children's Villages.
More... Help must be provided quickly, without bureaucracy and in a targeted manner in situations of crisis, war and disaster. In such traumatic situations children in particular need specific protection and intensive care. SOS Children's Villages is not a designated emergency relief organisation, but in many countries it is in the position to fall back on an established infrastructure if rapid intervention is required in times of crisis.
