It often cannot be taken for granted that women can determine their own lives, or actively take part in society, economics or politics. For many women, it is difficult or even impossible for them to access education, health care services, particular information and public areas purely because they are women.
SOS Children's Villages ensures that boys and girls get the same opportunities to develop their talents at SOS Children's Villages, schools, education centres and family strengthening programmes. Women are supported and encouraged to organise themselves, exchange opinions and receive further training. Equal rights for women has two results: self-confident, educated women have more healthy children, and support them more in their education and in finding their path in life.
