Bruni-Sarkozy and an SOS childIn April 2008, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, the First Lady of France, visited the SOS Children's Village in Gammarth, Tunisia.
Together with Tunisian Minister Sarra Kanoun Jarraya, she was introduced to various activities of the SOS Children's Village. They visited family houses, the girls' youth house, the social-pedagogic facilities and spoke to the children and SOS mothers.
Mrs. Bruni-Sarkozy even found time to sing with the children!
Evidently taken with the visit, Bruni-Sarkozy explained to the press that SOS Children's Villages is doing wonderful work and that the children seemed very happy.
SOS has a total of three villages in Tunisia including Siliana and Mahrès. An additional project is underway in Akouda, in the region of Sousse, which is financed by SOS Children's Villages - France.
