Asian cuisine, like Asia itself, is most often broken down into several regional styles which are rooted to the peoples and cultures of those regions. East Asian cuisine encompasses the cooking styles of China, Japan, and the Koreas; Southeast Asian cuisine includes Cambodian, Laotian, Thai, Vietnamese, Bruneian, Indonesian, Malaysian, Filipino, and Singaporean styles of cooking; South Asian cuisine includes the foods of India, Burma, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Pakistan; Central Asian styles are also practiced throughout Asia, as are Middle Eastern styles of cooking.
Many Asian cultures share the tradition of gathering with their families to socialize over big meals. We encourage you to take this tradition to heart and use these recipes as a delicious excuse to get together with loved ones.
