This poem is recited by children each Easter at the SOS Children's Village Conakry in Guinea. Children and teachers decorate their classrooms and make little Easter baskets to celebrate the holiday.
Poem for Easter
What are you doing young hen?
You see it, I am laying.
What are you laying young hen?
My small white or brown egg.
What is inside there?
A yolk and a white.
What are you doing young hen?
You see it, I am brooding.
What are you brooding young hen?
My small white or brown eggs.
What is inside there?
Some small chicks, yellow and white.
Happy Easter!
