Kwanzaa is a non-religious, cultural holiday celebrated worldwide among the African community. A celebration of family, community, and culture, Kwanzaa lasts from December 26 to January 1, a time which coincides with the first harvest celebrations of Africa. The holiday was created in the 1960s as a means to reaffirm and restore the African roots shared among African peoples and African descendents around the world.
