PRESS RELEASE: Haiti two years after the devastating earthquake - Help must continue

03/01/2012 - On 12 January 2010, a massive earthquake struck Haiti claiming the lives of more than 230,000 people and affecting three million others. Significant progress has been made in reconstructing Haiti. Nevertheless, the country remains closer to a state of emergency and not close enough to a path of stability and a future that offers opportunities. In 2011, SOS Children's Villages helped to address the problem and began constructing new schools and expanded long-term social programmes for children and families. More...

"Let's Play, Let's Build"

8/11/2007 - FIFA and its long-standing charity partner SOS Children's Villages are proud to announce the success of their latest joint campaign, "Let's Play, Let's Build", the official charity campaign of this year's FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada. The campaign surpassed its goal of $2 million and raised a total of $2.12 million, which will be used to combat the growing HIV/AIDS crisis in southern Africa. Flood-hit Bolivian families are struggling to survive

(5 March 2007) - Approximately 70,000 families have been affected by the worst floods to hit Bolivia in 25 years, and many have had to abandon their homes and possessions. Jakarta floods: Children in need of immediate aid

(5 February 2007) - Children in the areas affected by the heavy flooding in Jakarta are in urgent need of aid. The director of SOS Children's Villages in Indonesia reports many children are already suffering from various diseases due to unhygienic conditions, a lack of drinking water, and a shortage of food.
