On Feb. 4, 2010, Grammy-nominated recording artist Jordin Sparks voiced to boost awareness for SOS Children’s Villages’ humanitarian relief efforts in Haiti. The singer appeared in a 30-second Public Service Announcement (PSA) encouraging continued support of the organization and its urgent work in the devastated nation of Haiti.
Jordin Sparks is an American singer, songwriter and actress. Ms. Sparks rose to fame after winning the sixth season of American Idol in 2007. The artist also donated a significant portion of her time to charitable commitments.
When first introduced to the non-profit in 2007 by a family member who worked for SOS Children's Villages in Florida, Ms. Sparks immediately expressed interest in supporting "World Orphan Week" by designing a Swarovski-encrusted jean jacket for a celebrity auction benefiting SOS.
"SOS Children's Villages is on the ground, helping support children who have lost their parents and extended families and providing them with a loving, nurturing environment"
Ms. Sparks continued, "In a time where every effort in Haiti helps makes a difference, I ask all of you to support SOS Children's Villages so that they can continue to provide a safe haven to children at risk."
