At SOS Children’s Villages, children have access to sports programs, education, healthcare and much more. At SOS Children’s Village in Tlokweng, Botswana, children can enjoy playing football (soccer if you live in the U.S.) with friends and family.

Watch the video below and see how well they work together!

After gaining its independence, Botswana has managed to work its way up and become a middle income country. However, rates of poverty and inequality have stayed consistent despite its macroeconomic growth. An estimated 130,000 children who have lost one or both parents are currently living in Botswana; 93,000 children are orphaned through the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

As the number of orphaned children rapidly increases, SOS Children’s Villages is working to provide families and vital support services for these vulnerable children. With the help of sponsors and supporters, Botswana currently has three SOS Children’s Villages, two SOS Youth Facilities, three SOS Kindergartens, and two SOS Social centers for family strengthening programs.

If you join #TeamSOS today, you can help make it possible for children to enjoy sports in a loving, safe environment. Sponsor a child in Botswana or look in our sponsorship directory to find out where you can sponsor a child today.
