Haiti magnitude 7.2 earthquake

An earthquake of magnitude 7.2 struck this Saturday in western Haiti. Casualties and material damages are reported mostly in the south area, but there is no clear information about the extent.

On August 14, a magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck western Haiti near our village in Les Cayes. The National Director of SOS Children’s Villages in Haiti says the children and staff are safe, and there is no reported damage in the village—but the country remains in a state of crisis.

The well-being of the children in our care is our top priority. SOS Children’s Villages is taking every precaution to ensure the safety of the children who live at SOS Children’s Villages in Haiti—and, as always, children worldwide. Please send help now!
