Dear Jennifer Klein, Assistant to the President and Director of the Gender Policy Council of the United States government:

The statistics about women are staggering: 1 in 3 women globally have experienced physical and/or sexual violence. Most violence against women is committed by their intimate partners, affecting more than 640 million women aged 15 or older around the world.

But these aren’t just statistics. Each number represents a brave woman with her own unique story of strength and survival.

I call on lawmakers to prioritize the safety and empowerment of women and girls, along with SOS Children’s Villages USA. Every woman deserves to live free from violence and access opportunities to earn an education, develop financial independence and become leaders in their families and communities.

Signed,
