NEIL'S NEWS – January 28 2021 Catherine Lacavera joins SOS USA Advisory Board SOS Children's Villages USA welcomes our newest advisory board member, Catherine Lacavera, to the SOS family. SOS Children's Villages USA announced today the addition of Catherine Lacavera as a new member of the Global Advisory Board. SOS USA is the U.S. headquarters of SOS Children's Villages International: the world's largest nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting orphaned and abandoned children. The expanded Board of Directors and the new Global Advisory Board will be a catalytic force for this important work, which transforms the lives of millions of children and families each year, both in the U.S. and globally. "1 in 8 U.S. children are abused or neglected. Worldwide, there are 220 million children at risk of growing up alone. They need our help," said Neil Ghosh, CEO of SOS USA. Catherine Lacavera, Google Vice President of Legal Catherine currently serves as the Vice President of Legal at Google where she oversees global litigation, employment and regulatory investigations. She manages a team of more than 300 legal and technical professionals. She joined Google in 2005 from the law firm White and Case. A Canadian by background, Catherine is based in San Francisco and is a relatively new mother. With this new-found lens, she has developed a personal interest in children's issues and has quickly become passionate for the mission of SOS. In addition to her legal expertise and broad network in Silicon Valley, she has also recently opened the doors to Google to help build the SOS brand through performance marketing.
