Washington, D.C. – The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) recently announced that Lynn Croneberger, CFRE and CEO of SOS Children’s Villages – USA, has been selected as the Outstanding Fundraising Professional for National Capital Philanthropy Day 2014. Lynn was nominated by Nancy Withbroe, CFRE and Vice President for Development and Strategy at the National Women’s Law Center and SOS Children’s Villages – USA for her exemplary achievements in fundraising, philanthropic generosity and leadership.
“I’m honored to have been nominated by my peers and recognized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals,” Croneberger said. “This award serves as a testament to the importance of having a great team by your side. What we've accomplished at SOS Children's Villages would not be possible without the help of my exemplary colleagues.”
In 2012, Croneberger was hired as Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. headquarters of SOS Children’s Villages International, to raise the level of awareness and funding for the domestic and international work of the organization. SOS provides loving, stable homes for orphaned and abandoned children and since she joined, the organization’s revenue through US-based funding has nearly doubled.
“Lynn has a well-earned reputation as a nonprofit executive who thrives in organizations that are in the midst of challenging transitions and who is particularly effective at assembling and shaping cohesive and strategic fundraising teams,” Withbroe said.
Prior to joining SOS Children’s Villages – USA, Lynn was Vice President of Development for The Wilderness Society and Reading is Fundamental in Washington, D.C. She was also Executive Director for the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation and Memorial Foundation, Executive Director of the American Heart Association of South Florida as well as Vice President for United Way of Broward County, Florida. Ms. Croneberger is a certified fundraising executive (CFRE) and was the 2011 President of the Washington, D.C. Metro Area Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).
Lynn and five other outstanding philanthropists and fundraisers will be honored at the 13th Annual National Capital Philanthropy Day awards luncheon on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Capital Hilton Hotel, 1001 16th Street, NW in Washington, D.C.
