Washington, D.C.— Today, ALEX AND ANI and SOS Children’s Villages announced the launch of a new Sand Castle Charm that will support the organization’s mission of building strong families and communities for children in need around the world.
The Sand Castle Charm, which will be a part of the CHARITY BY DESIGN collection, was designed to capture what childhood truly means: innocence, imagination and the potential of big dreams. From May 2017 to December 2017, SOS Children’s Villages will receive a 20% donation of the purchase price from each bangle sold ($34 each) at ALEX AND ANI retail locations, online at www.alexandani.com, and through authorized retailers. The bangle is available in Rafaelian silver and Rafaelian gold.
“We are thankful to ALEX AND ANI for helping us provide the love, support and protection of a family for the world's most vulnerable children,” said Lynn Croneberger, CEO of SOS Children’s Villages—USA. “With the stability of a family, these children will have the chance to dream of a brighter future.”
Worldwide, 1 in 10 children have lost or are on the verge of losing their family due to global challenges like poverty, conflict or natural disasters. Without a family home, many of these children are vulnerable to exploitation in the forms of abuse, child trafficking or recruitment by armed groups.
Through sales of the Sand Castle Charm, ALEX AND ANI will help SOS Children’s Villages provide vulnerable children with the love and long-term support they need to shape their own futures: a stable family, quality medical care and the opportunity to learn.
