SOS Children’s Villages – USA’s CEO, Board of Directors and Staff Honored on National Capital Philanthropy Day
On November 18, 2014, the fundraising community in Washington, D.C. came together for a celebration of giving during the 13th Annual National Capital Philanthropy Day (NCPD). The event honored organizations, philanthropists and fundraising professionals for their inspiring generosity and philanthropic achievements. Leon Harris, award-winning journalist and anchor of ABC7/WJLA-TV, presented the awards to the six winners.
Lynn Croneberger, CEO of SOS Children’s Villages – USA, was selected as this year’s Outstanding Fundraising Professional. In her acceptance speech, Lynn shared just how inspired she is by her team at SOS.
“They work hard every single day to secure one more grant, get one more corporate gift and bring in one more child sponsor because they know children’s lives are on the line,” said Croneberger. “They inspire me and challenge me every day, and I am a better leader for it.”
To show just how grateful and proud she is, Croneberger honored both her Board of Directors and staff during the Honor Your Own segment of the program. The Board of Directors were honored as this year’s exceptional volunteer fundraisers. And the SOS staff was recognized for their outstanding fundraising efforts.
A special thank you goes out to the Association of Fundraising Professionals and all the co-convening organizations for organizing such a great event.
