6/11/09 – For the fourth year in a row, Cartier has linked its Love Jewelry Collection to charities around the world. SOS Children’s Villages is proud to be one of these major partners joining in this celebration of Cartier’s Love Day.
To celebrate Love Day, Cartier is donating 10 percent of sale proceeds from the entire Love Collection to its participating charities, each identified by a major celebrity. Actor Djimon Hounsou, star of the movie, Blood Diamond, chose SOS Children’s Villages as his Cartier beneficiary. Cartier and its customers have subsequently raised over $200,000 for SOS.
“This translates into annual support for 555 orphaned children,” said Heather Paul, CEO of SOS Children’s Villages – USA. “It has to make a Cartier customer feel good that an elegant purchase of fine jewelry contributes to a home and family for an SOS child who previously had nothing.”
As an organization committed to caring for orphaned and abandoned children worldwide, SOS understands that real love is one of the most sacred gifts a child deserves. Today, Cartier extends its “Love” brand to those who need it the most. The Cartier Love Charity bracelets give true meaning to the phrase, “what goes around, comes around.”
