Nearly 71 million young people worldwide are unemployed.
As this number continues to grow, so does the number of young people who live in extreme poverty.

Our partnership with HSBC transforms educational outcomes and drives personal development, allowing high-risk foster care children who are in SOS Families to thrive academically. The program’s success is evidenced in a 100% high school graduation rate, nearly double the national average for children in the traditional foster care system. Tailored approaches, life skills development, tutoring, test preparation, digital inclusion, and STEM experiences ensure that students successfully transition to higher education or the world of work.
SOS and DHL are partners in increasing the employability of vulnerable youth through the development of market-relevant workplace skills and opportunities. Having coined “Go Teach” as a call to action to the company’s global workforce, DHL mobilizes its employees and leverages its operations to actively train, mentor and empower thousands of youth in a partnership that has grown to 26 countries spanning six continents.
A public-private partnership of government and corporate stakeholders, this new SOS initiative leverages technology, digital tools and resources to build the capacity of emerging entrepreneurs and connect them with investors, consumers and the marketplace. Over 4,000 vulnerable youth are enrolled in the Next Economy program in its first year and will ultimately start their own business, scale an existing start-up, or secure traditional employment.
SOS uses a MobilTrain mobile app to virtually educate youth and expectant mothers in Cambodia and India. Teachers disseminate daily texts and conduct virtual lessons via Skype, including training in English language skills, which are critical to the employment opportunities in the region, and life skills coaching for highly vulnerable populations.
