How Your Support Helps Children and Families

SOS Children’s Villages has worked in Ukraine since 2003. Thanks to generous donors like you, we have expanded our presence in Ukraine from two regions to 17 and relocated thousands of children and families out of high-risk zones, providing shelter, health care and employment opportunities in 15 neighboring countries.

Our emergency response includes:

  • Rushing immediate humanitarian aid to 157,807 people in partnership with local organizations. 
  • Keeping families strong with comprehensive case management, psychological consultations and essential items for 113,208 people. 
  • Offering mental health support, including counseling sessions and a summer camp to address trauma, for 65,482 people.  
  • Providing financial assistance to 28,280 people in vulnerable families through cash and vouchers.  
  • Operating 73 child-friendly spaces with interactive group activities, educational classes and games for 60,976 children.   
  • Enabling access to physical and psychological rehabilitation for children injured in the war, helping 1,166 children and their parents.

GAZA STRIP

Children successfully evacuated from Rafah

A total of 68 children from the SOS Children's Village Rafah in Gaza as well as 11 employees of the SOS Children's Villages and their families have been evacuated. We have worked through diplomatic channels with all relevant authorities to bring the children and adults to Bethlehem in the West Bank, where they arrived safely on 11 March.
