“You can do it.”
Young people long to hear these words—to know that someone believes in their ability to achieve their goals and thrive.
For some young people, this encouraging voice comes from a parent or guardian who provides emotional, financial and practical support as they transition into independent living.
But for those who grew up in alternative care—like orphanages, group homes or with foster families—they are left to navigate housing, finances, education and other major life decisions alone.
Without the safety net of a loving family to guide them toward independence and provide critical guidance in education and employment, these young people face significant barriers to building successful, independent lives.
But you can be the voice that says, “YouthCan!”
