90% of the population has been displaced.

At least 132,000 children under five are at risk of death from acute malnutrition.

EMERGENCY: Children in Gaza are starving.

A famine has officially been declared in Gaza—and children are suffering the most.

By the end of September 2025, more than 640,000 people will face catastrophic food insecurity, with another 1.1 million people rapidly approaching devastating hunger.

Children are wasting away, and with no food available, parents are helpless to prevent their children from starving to death.

But today, you can help feed a hungry child in Gaza with your donation to the Children in Crisis Fund.

Please don’t wait—you can be the difference between starvation and survival a child desperately needs.

Children in Gaza and Israel once again have hope for a peaceful future after the ceasefire declaration.

Throughout the ceasefire, SOS Children’s Villages continues to provide life-saving physical and mental care to vulnerable children. Our life-saving work is more urgent than ever for children suffering the calamitous effects of conflict and for families fighting to rebuild their lives.

To ensure children have the safety and resources they need to heal, recover and ultimately thrive, our emergency response teams continue to deliver immediate aid and long-term support.

SOS Children’s Villages is a secular, nonpartisan organization whose primary responsibility is to provide for and protect children—wherever and whenever they need it most. We have been providing safe, loving homes to children, strengthening families and delivering life-saving aid in times of crisis in Palestine since 1968 and in Israel since 1977.

Our collective impact in Israel + Palestine

Thanks to compassionate supporters like you, we:

  • Supported more than 53,000 individuals, including 31,192 children, with life-saving aid since the beginning of the war in Gaza.

  • Evacuated 68 children from the SOS Children's Village Rafah in Gaza, as well as 11 staff members and their families to a safer location in Bethlehem in March 2024.

  • Conducted an additional emergencyrelocation of children and adults from the village in Rafah to protect them from heightened security risks in May 2024. With the help of compassionate donors, we built shelters and provided vital emergency supplies and basic needs for the displaced children and families.

  • Expanded emergency centers, created support groups and worked with trauma specialists to develop tailored programs for children in Israel.

  • Prepared SOS Children’s Villages in Israel for potential escalation with generators, food, water and occupational and learning activities.

  • Gave 65 children without parental care a safe, loving home in SOS Children’s Villages in Palestine until they can be reunited with their families and reunited 45 children with their families of origin.

  • Supported more than 16,632 individuals with cash assistance to cover their family’s basic needs.

  • Delivered mental health and psychosocial support to more than 30,632 individuals, helping children and families cope with the trauma of war.

  • Provided 1,300 children with nonformal education and distributed 4,500 educational kits to minimize learning disruptions and help children build a brighter future with education.

"I'm thankful from the bottom of my heart for the people who stood up for us kids and saved us. I really hope I can do the same for others someday."

Children in crisis need you

Gaza is in ruins. Children and families face severe shortages of food, water, safe shelter and trauma-informed care.

Our local, trained emergency response teams continue to relentlessly deliver life-saving aid to children and families in Israel and Gaza.

During the brief ceasefire that ended in March, our team visited the evacuated children’s village in Rafah. It was completely destroyed.

“Had we not left, we probably would have all been killed,” said Reem Alreqeb, Gaza Program Director for SOS Children’s Villages Palestine. “We will need to rebuild everything from scratch. It is likely the children and staff who remain in Gaza will have to live in temporary shelters for a long time.”

Your gift to the Children in Crisis Fund doesn’t just save lives—it rebuilds them. Be the helping hand a child needs today, providing safety, stability and love to the most vulnerable children.
