After all of your debts, bills and taxes have been paid and all specific and non-specific gifts have been distributed, you can leave a share or percentage of your remaining estate as a residual gift.

If you reside in California, Florida or Texas, you can set up a charitable gift annuity, which will return annual payments back to you for life.
