Reporting to the Vice President of Development and Communications and working closely with President & CEO, the Director of Donor Engagement and Impact generally develops and executes strategies to cultivate, solicit and steward gifts more than $5,000 from a portfolio of high net worth donors and prospects. Additionally, this position will develop strategies to enhance the organizational portfolio of recurring donors.

The Advocacy Advisor will work in the New York Office of SOS Children's Villages International. Under the guidance of the Head of Strategic Partnerships and Representative to the United Nations the Advisor play a key role on a range of activities aimed at positioning SOS CVI target group within UN member states, UN Agencies and other partners' agendas and focus of action. S/he will engage with external partners and manage relations with key internal and external actors issuing recommendations for strategic engagement and content development. S/he will work to strengthen advocacy capacity across the SOS CVI Federation. S/he will monitor existing and emerging trends and issues related to child rights and specifically children and young people living in alternative care and families at risk of breakdown. S/he will identify opportunities or initiatives to advance the advocacy goals and/or the profile of the organization and its target group.

SOS USA is seeking a Development Operations Assistant to support the entire philanthropic team with inputting, organizing and reporting on the backend fundraising data that is generated from our work. Under the direction of the Vice President of Development, the Development Operations Assistant provides support to the SOS - USA advancement team by completing data entry using both electronic and paper systems. Contributes to the operation of the advancement department with accurate and timely data entry and database management assistance to ensure the successful operation of the department in meeting the organization's constituent relationship and fundraising goals.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-energy, hands-on, fast-paced and entrepreneurial organization as part of a collaborative and cross-matrixed team. They are a go-getter and has the internal drive to make sure our data is as clean and usable as possible. The ideal candidate will also possess a high degree of focus, curiosity, logic and attention to detail and works collectively with a team to understand how best to structure, report on and collect our data.

 The position is based in Washington, DC.

The Individual Giving team and the Corporate & Foundation Partnerships team work to build awareness of and raise funds for the SOS Children's Villages global mission. As the intern supporting these two teams, you will gain first-hand development experience at an international NGO. Duties associated with this position include, but are not limited to the following: the qualification and development of grant submissions, preparing donor reports and written briefs, donor prospecting, conducting research and also providing regular administrative support in managing donor information in internal databases. This is an unpaid internship.
