At least 220 million children around the world are frighteningly alone – shut out from a caring family environment and sometimes even rejected by their communities and deprived of basic needs like food, clothing, shelter, education, health care, protection and love.
SOS Children’s Villages is active at the national and international levels, utilizing over 60 years of experiences working for and with children who have lost or are at risk of losing parental care and their families. We amplify their needs and rights with communities and policy makers, and empower young people to engage on advocacy for policies that affect their lives.
Children are our future and together we can take action to protect and defend their rights. Learn more about the issues and how you can take action below!
The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is the most widely accepted human rights treaty in history. Today, the U.S. is the only country not to ratify. Join #TeamSOS in urging President Obama to start the process!
