Report: A Child's Road to Resilience
There is a reason that SOS Children's Villages places so much emphasis on emotional bonds and secure relationships. As our work with children, young people and families shows, they are the foundation to a happy and healthy life. And science backs this up!
Download our new report, A Child's Road to Resilience, which explores the evidence for the importance of nurturing relationships in child and youth development, and aims to answer the following questions:
— Why are nurturing relationships important for a child's development?
— What is the role of nurturing relationships in building resilience and mitigating the impact of neglect, abuse and other traumas?
— Can trauma be passed down through generations?
This publication brings together existing findings and provides a snapshot of current trends in research and practice. In so doing, it serves as a general introduction for anyone interested in learning more about how relationships in childhood contribute to child development, healing and beyond.
